I like to do things differently.
Whether it's buying a scrap-yard school bus and transforming it into a one-of-a-kind classroom that reaches tens of thousands or helping to build the largest culture-infused learning program in Southern Ontario, I like to find new solutions for old problems.
I am an educator, maker, entrepreneur, and designer living in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Through this website I hope to capture some of my passions, experiences, and interests and to let people know more about the work I do in my community.

Keynote Speaker. Communications Professional. Consultant.
Maker
Building, creating, and tinkering.
The MakerBus
Canada's first mobile makerspace and technology education classroom.
It started with a simple idea - we should buy a bus. That simple idea quickly grew into a complex project that works with multiple community stakeholders to deliver programming, provide staff training, and host community-focused events. In 2016, the MakerBus is on track to reach more than 15,000 people in Ontario through workshops, classes, and pop-up projects.
To learn more about the MakerBus, visit our website (www.makerbus.ca) or read about our programming on our blog (www.makerbus.blog).
MakerBus TV
Highlighting London's amazing makers on local television.
Through the MakerBus, we meet a lot of amazing London-area makers. MakerBus TV is a 5-part original series airing on RogersTV in 2016.
This series will highlight the amazing work of local makers and will give these creative individuals a platform to share their creations.
Canada's Longest Human Circuit
Bringing more than 700 community members together to #MAKE a difference.
The MakerBus team, with the support of the London Arts Council, London Heritage Council, Downtown London, the City of London, Warpaint Media, and Awesome London, set out to break a World Record for the Longest Human Electrical Circuit.
While we didn't set the world record, we set a record for the longest circuit in Canada, bringing more than 700 people together to hold hands and celebrate community connection.
The Bus Stop
London's only family-friendly makerspace and community hub.
In the summer of 2016, I helped to launch the Bus Stop - a community makerspace and hub. The inclusive space is run collaboratively with Bread & Roses Books and combines making, literacy, and a community-first ethos.
From workshops, to community speakers, to free public education sessions, the Bus Stop is London's first and only inclusive community makerspace.
Entrepreneur
Working to build sustainable programs in my community.
The MakerBus
A social enterprise creating sustainable change.
Created three years ago, the MakerBus is Canada's first mobile makerspace and technology education classroom.
Together with my fellow co-founders Kim Martin and Beth Compton, we have created a social enterprise that engages thousands of community members each year in hands-on technology education.
